|
|
I have a 2006 royal that over the past 2 weeks has had 2 feeds but no poo's! Looking at his lower end you can see there is a poo there... I have tried a warm bath with no success as yet... should I be worried? Is there anything else I should try?
Thanks in advance _________________ take nothing but pictures

How long did you give the bath for ?
Leave the snake in the warm bath that is about 5-6in deep for 15-20 mins.
Generally you will notice that the snake will swim a lot trying to get out.
Support and hold the snake in the head/neck area and let it swim and thrash about for a while ... this is the bit that makes it go a poo
DO NOT forget to thoughly disinfect the bath after this, as this can be a cause of salmonella especially to young children. There was a case of a young child catching salmonella a few years ago that was directly linked back to the families iguana pooping in the family bath after its weekly 'swim' _________________ People laugh at me because I am different

Thanks for the advice... I only left him for about 10 mins before and it was about 2" of water in a large contico. I will try your method in the big bath!

Glad to be of help.
It isnt the bath that works, it is the warmth of the water and more importantly the swimming movement that help the snake poop. _________________ People laugh at me because I am different

Glad that it worked. It is always so much better using natural methods rather than reaching for the sink-plunger every time..... |
