From what I know you can keep them on purely CGD without health problems.
Though it's also said that you should give them crickets maybe once a week to stimulate hunting... _________________ 1.1.1 Crested Geckos

I don't see why Lobster Roaches would be unhealthy, though one of my friends tried this and he said the Roaches seem to be better at hiding and escaping. Crickets are probably your best bet.
I'm not sure how long it would take, sorry. _________________ 1.1.1 Crested Geckos

Well considering you might be looking after 60 bearded dragons soon I don't think there would be that much more of a cost! However, considering how much space it will take up, you think there will be space? lol _________________ 1.1.1 Crested Geckos

It isn't unhealthy to only feed CGD but in my opinion it would be unhealthy to feed just pure babyfood. I think that baby food on it's own should just be as a treat (like waxworms would be for your beardies).
Also I think that it would be unfair to deny them livefood as they like to hunt but that is just me. I'm sure a crestie would do just fine on CGD. If you dusted with the correct supplements you could probaby have a healthy crestie on just livefoods too.
On the subject of the livefood, my cresties like pretty much anything. Favourites have to be moths but I can't get enough of those for a staple food so their staple is lobster roaches. They have good protein levels and are soft bodied. They are quite good at hiding too though (see my latest topic) and so I feed them out of a glass bowl/jar with a line of vaseline around the rim to stop them escaping. |

I have fed my colonies for many months on just CGD and never noticed any differences (for the worse).
In the wild they have been found to eat mainly fruits etc so hunting live insects in the wild may not be that common (although I'm sure they would snatch up any passing insects while searching for fruit). _________________
