HI i've been looking into a few gecko types and my fave ones are leapords, pictus, mournin, dwarf wonder gecko and dwarf sand gecko.
Just wondering how much height each of these needs and would a 2ft long viv be ok to house any of these types (seperatly of course)

HEY,
For a leopard gecko you could fit two females into that tank with around 18inch's of height that would do them fine.
I'm no expert on dwarf sand geckos and dwarf wonder geckos but you could probably fit a couple more of them in that size tank.

Well,
In a two foot tank, you could fit an absolute MAX of 1 male and two females on the condition there are lots of hides and they are closley monitored for any injuries from breeding or fighting. Height isnt really an issue with leos but if you use a spotlight for heating, 18 inches is a good height.

I have been keeping dwarf sand geckos only for about a month now, but i guess you could house 5 or 6 in a 2ft x 2ft x 18 inches (LxDxH)

Hope that helps...

Jake

Yeah thanks for the help. I was planning on using these for gecko's http://www.petsparade.co.uk/reptiles/housing/?p=3573 these would be ok for ground type gecko's that don't need height providing i use heat mats.

Yeah, That should be fine as long as there's plenty of hiding places .

If i was you i would only house females together and once you are more experienced you could buy a male and house him separately. For mating,
This is due to the stress caused from constant mating attempts and the damage that could happen when the female has had enough. your only end up having to buy a separate tank for him once they start fighting. And at the end of them day them plastic boxes are hardly purse breaking.

Well I personally would only ever keep one leopard gecko in a 2ft viv. The two that I have at the moment are kept in 2.5ft vivs separately.

As another has already said, starting with one is best so you get to know their ways. Smile
