A great week chasing snakes in the south.
We caught 20 adults and 10 from last years breeding.
One very large grass snake was spotted and caught as she was in an area soon to be developed and she laid..........................47 eggs!!!!!!!
FORTY SEVEN!!!!!!

Yes that correct 47!!!!
I've checked and this is way WAY high.
They all look viable at this stage and I have decided to incubate them myself.

Good work mate,I have not seen a Grass snake in cornwall for years loads of Adders but no Natrix,their must be some about though as we have loads of suitable habitat and frogs. |
