i know breeders who use the 4ltr ones for babies as they quite compact. or small conticos. the 9ltr ones i used for royals (i bought) at about 125grams upwards to 400..
i think 9ltr would be ok, best wait for someone to come on with previous experience. |

I personally would go for the one with the extra height… personal opinion though. |

Ive keep all my hatchling royals in 9L RUBS. I liked the extra height they gave and none of them seem to mind it either.
I have seen people use the 4L ones too though and they look ok.
Personal preference I guess. |

I housed my royal hatchlings in the 9ltr really useful tubs until they are around 600grms then move them to 50ltr really useful tubs (stacked out with lots of hides ect). Their secure with great visibility! If your housing tiny royals in them (9ltrs) just stack them out with lots of hides and fake vines ect for them to hide inn. _________________ Graphic design genius (print & web)

bought some of the 9 ltrs to try for size. They fit perfect 3 across on one of the shelves I had planned for them.
If you have a shelf which you use for large conticos(lids on) these height wise will fit perfectly with lids on. so if like me you can spare a couple of double contico shelves you have 6 baby royal hatchling spaces.
I can understand why the 4 ltr are used by people but decided to go for extra height.

Totally agree, I also have already learned much about Royals that will be soooo useful in the future. Why is it that when suggesting viv sizes for Royals the authors of books suggest spaces that are quite a bit larger than the area of these really-useful-boxes ? Don't get me wrong, I am delighted if Royals can be kept happy and well in the boxes - and they very obviously can - just wondered.... They just seem a bit small when compared with suggested viv sizes. |
