i have a few spare fish tanks and i would like to put rhacodactylus geckos in one or more of them and i was just wondering if i could and how i would go about it, here are the measurements (LxWxH)

2 measuring
45 x 25 x 25 cm one with a plastic lid and one with no lid at all..

1 measuring 60 x 30 x 30 cm, with sliding glass cover and hood containing a light unit

1 measuring 60 x 30 x 36 cm with a hood containing a light unit.

would it be possible to convert any of these into a tank for rhacs (or if not another arboreal gecko)

i was thinking about putting them on their side, but i have no idea how and what to do to make them escape proof, well ventilated and still look good,

please help

thanks

got ur pm so here it goes.
its really simple and easy
you need a snapoff blade stanley knife
a glasscutter
and some silicone

this is for a 24x12x12 inch tank
cut out the glass strips for the coverglass or drip tray
cut one of the ends out of the tank and cut a 4" section of
stand the tank on the remaining site
silicone the 4 inch section in at the bottom
the rest silicone it back into its original place and that will leave you with a 4x12" gap in the back for a vent
cut one of the slim glass strips to size so it fits between the two now uprite sides and leave at least a 1" gap
this will be a vent
for vents i use the metal gaze you can buy in carshops for body repairs
now silicome the runners in and order the frontglass front a glazer
to messure the correct hight for the glass door messure from the bottom of the lower runner to the top of the higher runner and substract 7mm

there you go one perfectly build glass viv
best places to get all sorts of tanks for those conversions are your local recycling centres

happy building and i shall check if i still got some pics around
