I know I said I'd wait to use real plants but couldn't resist to get a nice ficus yesterday to add to the cresties viv. Embarassed Wink

Scott said to cut the root ball in half and plant into the substrate, question I didn't ask: is it necessary to remove all traces of the original soil... could any fertilizer present be harmful to the cresties?

Thanks

Hi Connie, with regards all the soil, I'd soak the ficus in a bowl of warm water & then wash off all the soil & then trim the root ball down to about half its size, I've just planted mine striaght into coco fibre in the past with no problem.

Hope that helps

cheers James

I left all the plants in the orginal pots as it was easier to take them out rather than disturb the entire tank.

Sad.

I really like the variegated creeping fig you have in some of them. I have a normal creeping fig in one of my setups, it just sends out really long runners though, would look much better if it was bushy like the ones in your setups :[.

Any other close up photos of the other setups like the first pic?
