ive been looking around for an exo terra , my stupid wooden one has swollen and cracked Sad the exo terra im looking for is 60x45x60. i was wondering if size matters with tanks.

ie. will it stress the gecko or is it the bigger the better moment ?

also i was wondering how many could happily be housed in a tank that size?

thanks !

hi, how old/large is the gecko? i have pairs in the 45x45x60 and will be putting trios in the 60x45x60's as from next week.if its a youngun, keep it in a small one, or even a plastic kritter keeper or something.

So long as your crestie has everything it needs and can find its food etc, then I'm sure it will be fine in any size tank.

I got my crestie when he was about a month old and he has been in the 45x45x60 exo terra ever since then. At the start I made sure he was getting CGD by putting a drop on his nose every night but once I started to notice him going and eating it himself from the bowl I stopped that.

In my opinion I don't see the point in buying the smallest tank and having to upgrade it every so often.

in my opinion i dont see the problem in upgrading tank size with the geckos size, i dont see the point in putting babies in massive exo terras etc, but as we all know, its all down to personal opinion and past experience.

I guess it's just extra cost that puts me off changing their tanks as they grow. If it affected the animals health like it would with a snake that liked to feel 'secure' then I wouldn't think twice but I don't think it makes a difference with cresties.
