Just a quicky *said the maid to the vicar* ( )
I have seen albino everglades advertised lately as ‘Belle Glades’ Albino Everglades Ratsnakes!
can anyone shed any light on this for me? just interested to know whether the 'belle glades' is in reference to colour, pattern or both
thanks _________________ best of luck in the new season |

‘Belle Glades’ Albino Everglades Ratsnakes! are also sold as Albino Blotchless Ratsnakes. Where as a normal Everglades as a hatchling has blotches which as it matures fade anad are replaced with stripes, the Belles Glade (which is an area in Florida where the first blotchless Ratsnakes were found) are born with stripes, these however are not the same as the 'normal albino' would have as adult, these can be broken and irregular in width. Theres differing opinion as to them being true everglades or a mixture of obsoletus subspecies. As far as I'm aware it is not a genetic mutation eg: breeding one to a normal you won't get het for blotchless, although the albino is genetic.
Elaphefan who posts on here sometimes had some blotchless ratsnakes perhaps if he sees the thread he will post a photo, I believe he hatched out an albino last year.
They are really pretty snakes

thank you very much Sue
they are very nice looking snakes.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, since being on this forum I have been impressed with amount of species and variants available in the hobby and not to forget the "font of wisdom" that is the people who use it
thanks again

quite the looker you have there captaincaveman
fair change in colour by the looks of it, although i'm sure that's more to do with the loss of pattern as it's growing _________________ best of luck in the new season |
