Well i was convinced my first group were 1.2 now Im leaning to 2.1 mainly because of an awfull lot of observing them and removing one member at a time and seeing how this effects the way they interact with each other
I have what i see as the alpha male who is bigger brighter and less prone t fleeing upon approch who is a definate male due to observing him using his bits while amtign the female who laid eggs
then I have the sub ordinate male? who i say i believe to be male due to a number of interactions over the 2 years ive had him the fact i orginally believed him t be female is I would say aminly due to him being the subordinate and me not being able to spot this so i labled him the dominant female orginally when he is I am almost sure now a male? I also observed that when the alpha male was not in view he would try to amte with the female constantly when the male was in view he tried to mate with him if he interupted him trying to mate with the female. Ive also observed that the 2? males behave in a similar manner and now at 2 years of age I can observe both have diffreing head stuctures to the female and similar to each other, The female is allways keen to stay hidden except when i observe her to be ovulating when she seems less worried about being in the open and seems more eager to feed in the open........
I am also going to be trying to obtain ground rabit soon which ive seen a couple of people usign now as a supliment to teh diet instead of pink mice as the rabits are whole ground rabit then I hope the extra calcium and vits from the bones and organs will be a benifcial addtion to the diet
That said the female is doign things these last few days she only did last when she was about to lay so I do hope that my choices for her are more accpetable this time nd that I might get a nice little bundle of eggs to incubate and i noticed about 30 mins ago she had left her burrow/nest and went to sit directly under the hottest part of the basking stack somthign Ive only seen Her do when gravid she prefers normally to be hidden in the level below and bask there where the temps are not quite as high
ho hum we will see what will be will be .................... |

what about using ground up adult mice instead?
If I can find a pleasant way of doing it, I'll give it a go. |

i tried cat food, they took it but it stinks too quick. I think in small amounts it's probably not too bad. |
