Giving up smoking helps the insects become more affordable and pubs smell so much nicer. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

I think anyone with a collection like that WILL breed their animals, and though it most likely will not cover the costs totally, it will help it from being crippling on their bank balance!
Also, breeding food items is FAR cheaper - I doubt anyone has a collection like that without breeding.

To be honest I don't really know, what I can tell you is that there are great savings to be had in the 'scales of economy' once your collection gets to a certain size.
The ONLY food items I buy are CGD in 1.2kg tubs, these I buy at wholesale prices (when they have the dam stuff in stock!) Everything else I use is bred by myself and a local greengrocer donates a dozen bananas a week too. If I was to actually buy my foods weekly from a herp shop then I would guess that bill would be £200+ on rodents and £200+ on insects
My biggest cost is my electricity, over £350 a month. _________________
