Hi,
Ackies are very active and curious animals and if you are interested in watching them having fun and spend a wonderful life time then 200cmx60cmx60cm is minimum cage for them.

i find it very interesting how ppl from different countrys have different idea of enclosure sizes
with our german colleges for example, they always wanna build an extention if a monitor grows to at least bosc size.
i think the effort they but into designing the enlosure environment deserves admiration alone
i always was under the impression a 4x2x2 is a good size for a pair
i've also read 36x18x18 for a single specimen
of course the bigger the cage the better ur ackie will enjoy it
build as big as you can afford and have space for _________________ ULI |

I had mine in a 42in X 24in X 20in (L x W x H ) with no problems but though that a bigger vivarium would be better as they are constantly on the move apart from their sunbathing naps.
If i got them again I would get a 48in X 24in X 24in, although an even bigger vivarium could be used as they are so active. _________________ People laugh at me because I am different

The advandage you will have in bigger cage is about feeding and a different behaviour generally(more fun for sure).Small cages will make some long term problems such as obesity, inactivity and difficult to breed.
My male timor will not bask if the female is near the basking spot,so i setup another basking spot and they both have their territory.I couldn't do that in my 120cmx60cm70cm so i built a bigger one where they already bred.
