Had one for some time, really nice geckos but they can be a little feisty. But their bite ain't much to worry about. Had a collard lizard lock onto my thumb one time, if someone has been bitten by one, they are much much worse than a Tokay Wink

Tokays love them, but mainly because they are nicely wicked and aggressive sometime its nice not to have tame and cuddly but something that is a killer Laughing

Especially if you have guests that you dont like, here hand me that Tokay please he wont bite you Twisted Evil

They are amazing beautiful lizards, I love Viv my rehomed Tokay, even though she would like to kill me. She's like a little dinosaur. Shes getting really nice and plump, would love to get her a boyfriend, but am unsure about introducing a CB male to her as she is LTC. Anyone got any comments on that or breed tokays themselves?

not as bad as a collared lizard? i beg to differ!

The eyes look a little different to normal. Definately looks like a reddish tinge to the pupil.

I have Tokays and find them ideally suited to captivity. I wouldn`t put them top of my list if it was an animal that I could regularly handle that I was looking for, but for an animal that has bucket loads of attitude, is easy to care for and has some fascinating hunting and breeding behaviour, then Tokays fit the bill well. Mine don`t appreciate handling but as has already ben mentioned previously, captivebred specimens can get to the taking food from the fingers stage fairly quickly.

My set up has a red bulb so that I can see them hunting at night. I never tire of watching them , they are a great species to keep. I am thinking of having a few loose in the reptile room to mop up escapee crickets/locusts etc.
