I am getting into photography now and am fed up with my little digi camera so i have decided to get a decent dslr.
after reading so many good things about it i have decided to get a nikon D80 as i want a dslr which will last me quite a long time. I am going to get the body only and then get a decent lens. but the question is which one? im looking for an everyday usage lens and then i will probably get a macro in a few months. can anyone help? |

the d80 is a great choice!!!
try and get a decent basic zoom to start along then get a good MACRO.
Try e-bay or AP. _________________ Live for today as your dead for a long long time

around £800 to start with. I have been looking on warehouse express and the D80 body is around £520, so i have got about £280 for the lens |

okey dokey...well the Tamron 28-75 is a cracking lens and within your budget or you could go for nikons 18-70mm again within budget and a sharp optic..Sigma also do a few in this price range including the 18-50mm 2.8 and the 24-70mm 2.8 which is also labelled as a macro but isn't really it just lets you focus a little closer than most others in that range. _________________

They certainly are Pete and will pretty much cover you for any occasion..all you need is a super wide angle now..lol..also worth mentioning is the 50mm and 85mm primes..these are very affordable and produce razor sharp pics!..the 50mm 1.8 can be had for £100 and the 85mm about £200. _________________
