was looking at the leo earlier and looked up at the heat controller stat , it says on it a dimmer sta but im using a heat mat , is this ok to use with a dimmer stat ?
as i was thinking it was for bulbs ?
its a habistat dimming thermostat max 600watts.
sorry if it a dumb question but if its the wrong one i will go out tommorow and get the right one.

I like to use pulse stats on heat mats myself and as Christopher mentions there certain stats just for heat mats. _________________

Although a Dimmer stat will control a heat mat just fine. |

No problems with that, I have several heat mats on dimmers and they work just fine. _________________ Kind Regards,

I have mats and spotbulbs on dimmers.
A dimmer stat on one mat is basically an overkill
I use dimmers on mats that are in racks and up to 6 at a time
The Mat stat is a simple, economic thermostat, designed to be used with heat mats to a maximum of 100 watts.
The Temperature Thermostat is an on/ off switching device, that can be used with a variety of heaters. It has an accurate dial calibrated in both Farenheit and Celcius. Ideal for controlling heat mats, and other low powered heaters up a maximum load of 300 watts.
The Dimming thermostat, designed specifically for controlling light bulbs. The Dimming thermostat is one of the most accurate methods of temperature control and whilst it is perfect for controlling light bulbs, it can be used on almost any heaters. Unlike other Habistat thermostats, it does require a minimum load of 40 watts, but has a maximum capacity of 600 watts at 230 volts.
The Pulse proportional thermostat, ideal for controlling higher power ceramic heaters. The function of this thermostat is far more sophisticated than the simpler on/off switching devices. It will very accurately control heaters and has a maximum load of 600 watts. A normal thermostat switches a heater on full power until the set temperature is achieved. It then switches the heater off completely until the temperature drops below the set value, when the cycle starts over again. The gap between the heater being switched on and then off is called hysteresis. It is between these points that the accuracy of the controller is assessed. The pulse proportional thermostat pulses electricity to the heater.
