 not seen many reviews that go against the nikon to be totally honest..Don't you mean the 50mm 1.8? Cracking little lens for the money..and supposedly sharper than the more expensive 1.4 version.
The canon 100mm macro is superb!!..You'll have fun with that.

1/60 was a bit optimistic...would have been a nice shot though if it was sharp.
