do you not think the colour it is a bit bright for a childrens python this is what i thought they look like

The snake that you are holding is still very young which makes I.D. more difficult. If it is a spotted, which I think it may be, it will get to 3' - 4', if a childrens it will remain much smaller. As it grows it will become a lot easier to tell from a photo as the spotting fades and final colour becomes more obvious. Temperament in a very young snake is not always much to go on, mild mannered and sparky babes can often come from the same clutch

mchlotts are another good example of how differently they can act from hatchlings to adults. babies are you usually willing to bite for any reason where as adults are usually very laid back.

Definitely Childerni, hatchlings can be variable with regards to their pattern & colour. Neonates are aggressive but will calm down, though all my adults have remained aggressive Very Happy
