So i heard bosc's are a good beginer moniter, we have one at college, but not tame I know the size they get to, but how do you go about taming them ??? What do they need to eat like how many off each item and when should it be feed e.g. every day, every two days etc. Last question cant find many have anyone got pics of there set-ups. _________________ Kieron

bosc monitors make decent pets i guess depending on what you are looking for. they will usually eat anything and everything.
they are cheap and easy to find and despite what a lot of people will say if you do a little bit of work you can find captive bred ones. _________________ cardboard city. |

Boscs do not like to be messed with too much, this makes them a poor choice as a pet, however they can make a good captive if you can leave them be and can provide them with a large enclosure and don’t mind changing out hundreds of pounds of substrate 3-4 times per year. They should be fed every day with small food items so be prepared to go through a few bulk bags of locusts every week if you choose to go with the invertebrate only diet. |

as i said they definitely like to eat.
i had a crocodile monitor that would eat around 8 chicks or large mice every day.
thats like 3500 a year.
and thats ONE animal. _________________ cardboard city. |
