For those of you who use nest boxes for your cresties, how big should they be? I was thinking an ice cream tub but I also have a big utterly butterly tub and some other plastic tubs lying around. What size should they be?

I use an ice cream tub for my nesting boxes and it seems to work well.

Thanks guys, ice cream tub it is. Do I just fill it with damp soil. Or is there a certain depth I should be aiming for?

Also I was wondering when I find eggs do I just get them out with my hands or is there a more delicate and technical way to do it Very Happy

I always fill to within 2cms from the top.

As for egg removal, I just stick my fingers in and root around for any eggs. So long as you don't drop them or turn them over sharply they will be fine. Rhaco eggs are very tough.

Being a clumsy person by nature, I use a paint brush to brush away the soil to expose the eggs.

Do you think one of those Carte Dor ice cream tubs that are sort of oval shaped would be OK or is that too small?
