hi i use a heat mat to heat my roaches but i don't think its getting hot enough and if i put a light on it the Vaseline runs down the sides

i use a heat mat under one half of the tub i use . don't have a stat or a temp gauge in there but mine are definitely breeding . i usually turn my mat of for a couple of hours a day

how hot is the room they are in ?


my room is usually high 20s maybe low twenties at its coldest

not sure but its there in my bedroom and there is tortoises with heat at 25-30
then beardie tank at 105 and another beardie tank at 105 and incubator so quite hot

A very easy way to increase the heat from a heatmat is to place a sheet of polystyrene under it or even some tin foil Very Happy

I dont give mine any heart source as they are in a small room with 6 vivs and 3 chameleon setups, so its always warm in there Smile
