This morning I went from my house 5 miles to a property my company are selling to do a viewing, and in that time I saw 6 different birds of Prey!!

I saw 3 Sparrowhawks, 2 Kestrels, 2 Barn Owls, a Tawny Owl a Hen Harrier and the one I am most over the moon to spot was a KITE!! and a big sod it was too! I saw it in a field taking off and initially due to the size of the wings I was really unsure what it was, but was the large loping wings had lifted it slightly the familiar V tail was very clear too see!

Why is it the one time I take my camera out of the car I see all this wildlife! The Kite basically just circled up and up gaining altitude quickly and was soon mobbed by a flight of house martins!!

I could not watch any longer as I was late as it was watching a pair of Barn Owls swooping over a field to where I am assume they have a nest as they both went into a derelict old barn!

Anyway will go back there over the next few days to see if I can spot them all again!!!

And who says this country has no special animals!!?!?!?!

Peter

My dad went fishing yesterday so I thought I'd go with him and he said to look out for an Osprey around the lake. He was saying how he'd been 3 times since the fishing season opened and had had his camera but only seen it once and it was going to quick to get his camera out and ready. And of course, he didn't have it with him yesterday.

So we were walking round the lake when he pointed over to the other side towards this big bird and goes "There it is", and within about 5 seconds of seeing it it started to swoop down and hit the water with a massive splash and came up with a decent sized fish in it's claws! But even if he did have his camera it was too far away to get a picture anyway, was still great to see though!
