Hi I have a few reptiles, including yemen chameneons, and am getting 3 Mellers Giant horned in the next couple of days- my mates a tradesman and has bought them and the whole set up for me and Im fostering them until they breed then selling the babies etc. Im getting info on the internet- care sheets etc, and wondered if anyone else keeps them and has any handy info for them? Thanks, Ratmolfe

Hi Ratmolf can i ask are the Mellors you are getting wild caught? just asking because they dont have a very good survival rate as wild caught, just to forwarn you of the risks involved, also are they adults cos you are going to need 3 mega size vivs these guys are huge and for 3 you nearly need a whole room.they can also eat for England so hope your locust breeding is booming. Also are you intending keeping all 3 together?

Hi thanks for the replies- I knew I could count on you guys!
I will be keeping them together for a while, but my mate can get the mesh vivs cheaper etc, and any other equipment I need, and will be keeping them in the garage when its all sorted out. For those that breed locusts how do you go about this? I have a 3x3 foot enclosed conservatory room which i can breed the locusts in- but what sort of containers/ heating/ food are best to do this? My mate can get a tub for 90p instead of £2.20 in the reptile shops so will be cheaper, but breeding my own will save money. And thanks for the mellers website- it looks good. I have heard they can get big so am looking forward to them coming- shame they can't be handled though!
