I am very interested in this species of chameleon, i have kept Yemen's, panthers and Jackson's before. Is there any chance Rick, Karen, Rob and other chameleon people help me please.

I am looking for information on there care, diet, basic requirements equipment wise and if possible some photos of setups and animals. I am particularly interested in knowing there adult size and requirements.

Thanks Guys & Girls

Tom

They grow to be very big reaching adulthood at approx two years of age. I keep mine in a very large flexarium four feet tall, the bigger the enclosure the better.

I feed mine the usual chameleon fare and the occasional pinkie. Two basking spots are provided, I dont use stats on the spots as the flexarium is so large and well ventilated I have found this is not required. The spots are mounted external to the viv and a good ten inches away from the actuial basking areas. I use an 8% UV tube. I mist twice per day and have water on the go all the time they drink a lot. No heating at night is provided and I allow the viv to drop quite considerably in temperature. Pics of the set up are on the various mellor threads on here.

I house and care for my baby mellors in a different manner to that above.

For a wealth of information the melleri website is well worth visiting.
