As promised some more photos of my venomous collection.

This is my 2 year old Southern Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix), a pit-viper from North America.

This was the first time she had ever struck-fed since I've had her. She had fasted for two months then shed. She was very hungry gobbling down three small mice, striking and holding each one in turn.

I usually have to leave her food in her enclosure then leave the room she's that shy!

So this was a first Smile

Venomous are usually inexpensive due to the low demand and hassle of obtaining a DWAL.

Depends on the animal, though age and size and also sometimes sub-specis can be a factor.

What a great snake... One of my favs.
I've thought about this sometimes: If you simply put the defrosted mouse in the terrarium of your contortrix, V. ammodytes, etc., would it eat it, or do you need to always move the prey?
Thanks...
