I have 2 questions,
First is the age of my crested,
Herbert is just over 5 inches long, and according to what the petshop I bought him from said, he should be just over 5 months old now. Does this sound about right given his size?
The other question is, does Herbert look like a male from these photos? I was just snapping away for the photo comp, but noticed more of a bulge in these shots
I know Herbert is relatively young, but a female wouldn't be this 'bulgey' at this age would they?
Let me know what you think _________________ Steve P |

from the pics I would say is becoming a male, but you never know with cresties, about the size I think he/she is younger, I have 2 cresties right now which are 5 months of age and are about 6 inches long, although they might have different rates of growth, but are you sure is 5 inches long? from the picture and his shape it seems to be larger and older than 5 months to me |

Herbert does look quite bulgy lol
Spud is 5 months old in a weeks time.. I just measured him now, for the first time and he is only 4.5 inches... Herbert does seem alot larger than Spud from the piccies.. _________________

5" exactly pretty much;
I've noticed his shape has changed quite a bit recently though, definitely looking more mature.
edit:
You're right, he is a bit podgy  _________________ Steve P |

Spud looks great too
I don't know his weight, no. I need some electronic scales of some sort, I've been meaning to get some for a while.
Hmm you say spud is 5 months soon, by the look of it Herbert could well be just over 5 months then. I might ring the pet shop I bought from. I like being a bit more accurate _________________ Steve P |

I think Spud is a bit small for his age (bless him lol), so Herbert might be just about right? I'd be interested to find out how much he weighs coz he does seem a bit bigger, even tho theres only a half inch difference! _________________
