If you don't mind me asking first.
Is it newport shropshire ? If so are you tempted witht eh one in the shop?
Why were you thinking of a brazilian smooth snake ? Looks, personality, or as a starter for DWA ?
Care is fairly easy, I'll see if I can track down a care sheet, not much to them really though, keep similar to a normal colubrid (that is what it is anyway), large water bowl, and take care at feeding time as they like food.

When he says starter for DWA, I think it's because they're often used as 'training' snakes, due to their percieved aggressiveness and supposedly borderline DWA bite. _________________

Personally FWC do nothing for me as a "trainee" venomous snake, once accustomed to being handled they will rarely bite, granted there are specimens that are aggressive but I'm yet to find one,
The best snake to work with in order to gain experience is the real thing in someone Else's collection, you ask any hot keeper, would you feel more pressured handling an aggressive 6 foot white lipped python or a 6 foot western diamond back rattlesnake, knowing if the python bit you it would hurt makes complacency occur however knowing the western could potentially cause loss of limbs you'd have to be stupid to be complacent.
From persona experience no non-venomous snake can move its head around from one position to another so fast even rattlers are fast so think what a mamba is like,
For me if you want in on venomous keeping find someone willing to mentor you and work your way up with them, if you cant do that get a coach whip and have contact with it as much as possible.
