Ok i have a new member come to join the gang!
Its a chocolate albino leopard gecko!
Nice lil chap only a bubba not sure how old mind!
Anyway offered him a waxie tonight as a way of saying welcome and he didnt seem to be able to see it?
The person i got him from got him rescue and he is very thin i think anyway? will try add a piccie 2moro.
he was in a 3ft tank as i say his little so moved him to a cadburys box he has a hide and water he keeps just stepping in and walking into.
I offered him the waxie and he smacked right into his hide which isnt a good sign i dont think?
So i just wondered could this be possible? his eyes look fine from what i can tell didnt want to pull him about to much as his new.
Just his very unlike my others who spot food nearly right away even if they dont eat it they watch!
Any ideas here guys _________________ Shaz

Hi ya
sadly sounds like he is blind its a pretty common problem with leo's often a problem shed damages the eye's as quick way to check is to shine a low watt torc near his eye;s if you can see in he can see out if not chances are he is blind
I run a rescue and we have a lot of blind leo's come this way PM me if you need any advice
take care paula x _________________ Bardies/rankins/frillies/orange spot agamas,uro's

albino's in general have very poor sight if you have a light on in your living room etc, I have to use lamps when feeding my albinos as otherwise they close up their pupils so tight then they struggle to see, it could just be that they are also VERY clumsy eaters I have found especially babies.
my tangerine albino was useless as a baby had to literally hold the food in tweezers and touch his nose before he knew there was food and he definately isn't blind.
hope he is ok and can't wait to see pics!! |

Ok thanks for that guys!
Pretty much sure with what you said testing and watching more today he is blind
I tried to get him to eat tonight no joy i spant 2 hours son come in held a waxie in his face and wham gone!
Guessing me telling the lad to wash and him not has some gain to it!
So happy his eaten tonight and we know how to make him eat!
Water gave a shallow lid for water and keeping him in a smallish place!
So with luck we should cope with this one long as we are not going to gain extra problems we should be fine!
Took more piccies as my idea was tip a whole tub of waxies in the box and see if he would eat if he could feel them!
That worked on 1 too so another idea i guess!
Anything fast is gonna be a hand job i guess
But long as his eating drinking and seems ok im happy! _________________ Shaz
