I would say male too..(going on the size of the cloacal spurs)... Have you got any photos from the side Pete - does 'he' have a bulge? - it's hard to tell on those photos... Very Happy

Jackie,
have you noticed a big difference in the spurs between male & female?

Pete, I'd say female but could go male at anytime...lol

Over the weekend I will seperate the ones I'm growing on into 'male' & 'female', this will be my best guess as they are still far too small to be sure. Hopefully I'll see just how good (or bad) I am at early sex determination.

Hi Scott,

A friend of mine breeds a fair number of Cresteds and has found that the males do tend to have larger cloacal spurs at an earlier age than females. I don't know how accurate it is with ciliatus though. I know it's more accurate to sex them going on the cloacal spurs in auriculatus and chahoua (males do have visibly bigger ones than females).

Keep us posted on your results Scott - how are you going to determine what goes into the female box and vice versa? Just curious to know breeders sexing tips/methods that's all...lol.

Very Happy
