hi
What is the difference between a mack snow leopard gecko and a Super Mack Snow Leopard Gecko?
How do you produce a super and why is it so much more expensive than a mack snow?
thanks

mike

1. A mack snow leopard gecko has black, white and yellow pigmentation, whereas a super mack snow only has black and white pigmentation.

2. If you breed a mack snow to a mack snow on average 25% of the clutch will be super mack snows, 25% Normals and 50% mack snows. The super macks are more expensive because they are pure black and white and also because they produce more macks and super macks when bred to normals and mack snows.

Hope this helps? Very Happy

I have looked at you website, pretty cool the difference between a mack and super mack, nice little project for me while waiting for my royals to produce.
Another question. The ones I am thinking of getting are CB06.
What am I looking for to sex them.

mike

Hi Mike, cheers for checking out the site. Male and female leopard geckos are fairly easy to sex, a male will have distinct pre-anal pores and a large bulge at the base of the tail whereas a female will have little or no pores and a small bulge. Take a look at the link below to see what I mean;

I phoned up today but they where sold.
Gives me chance to read up a bit more till some more become available.
Did have leopard geckos a few years back but not sure what sex they were. thought one may have been male.
What do you think is the best morph to have a bash at?

thanks
mike

Macks (especially hatchlings) will be very cheap this year.
As for the best morph to keep, it's all down to personal preference - they are all equally easy to keep (although blizzards do have a bit of a reputation for being aggressive, but this is by no means universal among the morph).

Mack snows will be cheap later this year because the market has been flooded with them. I had a leopard gecko that was purchased as a female (hatchling), that later turned out to be male. It can be hard to sex them as hatchlings but once they have grown on it becomes easier.

Especially because they can't be temperature sexed.

They can be temperature sexed!!!, although temperature fluctuations etc can lead to hot females being produced at male temperatures.
