Had to remove my 3 foot female Eastern Gaboon Viper from her enclosure today so I could give her some fresh water.
So I thought I'd take some new photos to show all you Gaboon lovers out there!

Only got the one Gaboon mate and yes she is is calm.
I use long snake hooks to work with her and I never allow myself to become complacent.
Fastest strike in the world and acrobatic as well. They can easily strike back over their own body to nail you from behind!
The other night I had my face right up against the glass in the posisition you see her above.
She gave a little hiss and then struck at me so fast I didn't even have time to react. Thank god for glass!!
Gaboons can be agressive in the evenings so I only work with her during the day
Even then, I'm always on my guard. _________________ You can't trust the snake......but you can always trust the snake to be a snake. |

Great colours and markings. Nice little snake. How long you had her? |

IT must be amazing to see a snake that size leap, they really are incredible creatures,I love the stockyness of them .It's a real shame Gaboons are suffering so badly in the wild due to habitat loss.Any plans on pairing her up |
