chahoua X auriculatus cross?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got this off the rapashy website forum just thouht i would post it to see what you guys and girls think.
Now, I know the auriculatus X ciliatus cross has been discussed many times, but I came across a curious photo on kingsnake today that made me wonder if a chahoua X auriculatus cross could be done.... here's the photo I came across:
it is being sold as an auric, but this thing just screams chahoua cross to me. It's got little white patches over the hips, a hidden pattern like a chahoua on it's back, and the little cresting over the eyes looks like it's made up of little arches/bumps like a chahoua whereas an auric has little spikes all the way around. Not a very good picture to go by, but I thought it was intriguing.... I'm going to email the seller and get a little more info, what do you guys think? |

i did even now anyone had crossed these two yet but that pic sure does make it look like they have.
I personally not a big fan of hybrids but i can see peopl do it with certain species. _________________

Crested and chahoua crosses have been very well documented, but auric chahoua crosses have just been rumoured. That photo does look pretty convincing though - it definitely has baby auric head shape. To be honest I don't understand why people would want to hybridise two species anyway. _________________ Best wishes, Jackie

not convinced by the photo but then again I've never seen a hybrid of those two so couldn't say what they should look like
Personally I hope it's not, especially if it's being sold as a pure auric. Some hybrids are nice, most are facinating that they have been done but I don't really like the idea if them being available to mix into pure blood lines. _________________
