My royal and dum sometimes go like this. I have found scenting with Day old Chicks usually does the trick to get them going again. Are you feeding mice or rats? Again I have had better luck with rats. I also defrost them naturally (all day) and then just before feeding time give each side of the rat 10 mins on top of the water dragons AHS to get it nice and warm. The Royal seems to respond to a wiggle of the prey and the Dum is a definate drop feeder. _________________ “If in doubt, just say nowt” |

How often are you offering? What time are you offering? What is your actual setup, temps, hot/cold, vivs, hide etc?
Never tried it but a couple of people have recommended rubbing the prey in recent lizard shed. _________________ “If in doubt, just say nowt” |

Sounds ok, but I've never kept mine in a small contico the smallest I've used has been a medium. Are you getting enough temperature gradient with that? I know royals are happier in smaller vivs, but I've found as long as the hide is snug for them they seem ok in a slightly larger viv.
Do they roam the viv alot or are they fairly inactive? What weight are they and have they been loosing weight?
I'm not being silly here but I have found my royal feeds best between 9 and 10pm on a Sunday. _________________ “If in doubt, just say nowt” |

I'd agree with Stuart though try bumping the temps up a bit. _________________ “If in doubt, just say nowt” |

sounds like the temp's neede a raise.. you'll find with leaving most royals at optimum temps, that they usually feed... i've got one that just won't.. if he keeps it up i'm thinking of throwing in live food... i'm sure i've heard this is legal to a certain degree, but this will be last measures.
anywhere betweeen 88F-95F for basking is spot on for a royal.. air temps are good around 80-85F in the warmer end, and allowing just a small difference.. of maybe 78F for the cool end...
i'm quite drunk right now, so my advise might not be the best at the moment, but i think it's accurate enough |
