Where can I get this from?

I need a decorative form of wood (bog wood or similar), to use with making a background in a viv (probably screw it to attach to coco panel). I need it to add height to the vivarium and also so I can plant epiphytes to provide cover from above.

It is quite expensive (if needed in large amounts), but I got mine from an aquatics shop, Smile

It is mopani wood, and needs soaking, just as it colours the water otherwise.

EDIT: Peter Pan is too quick!

I'm not sure mopani will create the right look, it may be a bit too heavy too but I'm not certain. I will have to find some local aquatic stores.

I'm concerned that the wood may be too heavy for the coco panel, although I have siliconed it to the back very securely so hopefully it should be ok.

Can any of you suggest any good epiphytic plants that could hang. I was thinking dischidia but I have never had this before and don't know if it would do the job.

You could try grape wood or Liana, they are lighter than mopani but it depends in what your set up is and what species, is it for a desert viv or something humid like dartfrogs.
You can drill both of these and attach epiphytes.

It's a humid viv for crested geckos.

The floor area is pretty well planted. At the moment I have a couple of helix like liana branches, but I need something attached to the coco panel.

I've seen your viv project thread on Dendroworld, the wood you used looks good. What type is it?
