Tried taking a photo tonight of a gila sleeping on it's back. The first time I ever saw this I thought I had a dead gila on my hands but they all seem to do it at different times when sleeping.

The photos not great as when I open the cage, they quickly try and right themselves up.

from all the photos I have seen online and in books..they seem to be worse than beardie dragons in this respect.lol. so darn cute:-D

it is quite strange that they do this, really does make you worry when you see a few flat on their backs Laughing

I have heard this from other gila keepers too, so it does seem like natural behaviour.

You should of waited for this "natural behaviour" to happen before you let it lay down on my knee for a foto shoot Evil or Very Mad
