this is amy kellys sister she told me to go on here to ask for advice about my chameleon which has been acting strange these last couple of days. I went to check on him crimbo eve and normally his moving and walking around but when i checked on him he was just sitting there with his eyes closed under his heat lamp so i thought he was just basking. but then i checked on him, the next day i checked again and he hadnt moved or opened his eyes so i tryed feeding him and he refused it but i tryed again about 30 40 mins later and he ate which was good but didnt move at all after that. and kelly said he might be dehydrated so i sprayed his cage hoping he would drink but didnt so i left him till the morning sprayed it again but still no luck so i was forced to hand feed him water and just tryed feeding him about 10 mins ago but he refused it please i dont know what to do _________________ Dante (rankins dragon)

The best thing I have found for a dehydrated cham was a warm shower. Put him on a plant under the shower, but don't direct the spray straight at him. Leave him there (supervised) for about 20 mins. You should see him start to drink deeply after a few minutes. My cham gets a shower for about 30 mins once a week, and he loves it.
Don't worry too much about feeding him right now, it is more important that he's hydrated and not too stressed. |

If he is shaking or twitching then MBD is a possibility. |

Did you say he has got MBD? How is his breathing is he gaping at all or puffing and breathing out forcfully? sorry loads of ?s are his eyes puffy at all? If he has any of these symptoms it could be a respitory infection and he needs a vat asap. I am no expert at all so lets hope its nothing to serious and we can get him sorted and comfortable till you can get to a vet

As louise says a warm shower helps if he is dehydrated.

He was mistreated before I had him by this guy round the corner and he neverr dusted his food and was to put it simply neglected.
Its Kelly here now and Amy is taking her cham to the shower.
Hes not shaking or stitching at all just sitting there. he had bowed legs when we rescued him and we have always dusted his food with calcium and vitamin dust ever since weve had him.
His breathing looks fine. Eyes arent puffy by the looks of it.
What could be wrong apart from dehydration? _________________ Dante (rankins dragon)

I dont know Amy i wish i did hun, the thing is with Chams they dont often show signs of illness till they are to far gone to do anything about it, this could have been hanging for a while without you even knowing.
