What is the general concensus about venomoid snakes. Personally I don't agree with it but I may have missed the point, anyone else got any thoughts on the subject?

Have a good one
Al

I personally think they can be fantastic tools aiding in public awareness and training, where the prospective viewers are not aware of their status. However from an scientific and enthusiast's point of view, I wished they didn't exist Confused Cool

I'm all against it. Its part of the digestive process for venomous snakes. Little bits of the venom glands can get left behind making the 'venomoid' potentially still dangerous. It also puts the snake at risk with unnecesary surgery just because some person wants to modify the animal to better suit them. Its as bad as the de-clawing of cats.

I just don't think there's any call for it. The venomoid is still DWA because it can reproduce to make venomous babies, and if you want to play with a venomous snake you should never have been granted a liscence!

As James say's I think they have their place but not really in the hobby itself.

I don't believe them to be a good snake to learn 'hot skills' with because no matter what venomoid snake you are working with you still know that it can't kill you, this alone makes all the difference between handling a venomoid and a venomous snake.
