|
|
I am in the process of designing a new snake rack and I would like to use contico tubs. The only snag is that I cannot find a website or company etc that sells these tubs. Can anybody please help? ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) _________________ Deano |

Scott built a rather cool contico rack a while back if you do a search in this section for "contico rack" your pull up the thread. _________________ Paul

Thanks Scott, If you don't mind me asking what size tubs do you use in your royal racks and do you use vented or unvented tubs? I have had a look at the pictures of your racks on previous threads but am unsure if they are Med/Large tubs etc. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) _________________ Deano |

large tubs, mine aren't vented but I think I will probably end up putting vents in the FRONT only, just 2 disc type vents.
I'm sure if you are buying enough, eurorep will vent them how you want. _________________

hi
I have started using the 50 ltr really useful tubs for larger royals (over 1500grms). You buy these from staples or ebay. They take up a bit more room but in my opinion make a big difference.
Also have a look at the komplement boxes on the ikea website. these have a floorspace of 33 by 18 inches and are brilliant for large adult females, for breeding, for nesting etc. (they really can get very big and females will eventually outgrow conticos)
If you keep lids on you need to ventilate.
check out www.winracks.com if you would rather have a rack built.
good thing about building own you can cater for different size boxes in the one rack. Another thing to think about is building the rack in smaller sections so if it needs to be moved for any reason you dont have to dismantle it.
hope gives food for thought

Cheers Mike and everybody else for all info provided, I think I might start off by building a contico rack to house younger snakes and then build another rack for adults using the 50 ltr really useful tubs or possibly the Ikea tubs. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) _________________ Deano |
