My 3ft male royal shed a week ago, and the skin all came off in one piece except for the top of his head, including over his eyes. Ive given him a bath and he spends time in his humid hide but its still there and im really worried about it. At night he is constantly roaming his tank and tring to climb up the walls , which he does not normally do. I havent seen him rubbing his head on anything so dont think this is because of discomfort, he could just be hungry cos he hasnt fed for 2 weeks because of being in shed. Does anyone have any advice on what, if anything i can do to help him get rid of it?

cheers,
Tom

I'd be very carefull using sticky tape if I were you especially around his eyes, could do serious damage!!

yep, sticky tape would be my absolute last resort. Go for an overnight warm humid hide.....infact i'd even allow two bad sheds before using sticky tape on the eyes (sticky tape does work but can easily lead to accidents if your not confident)

i tested the skin first but the water had made it v. soft and tearable, it was obviously not at all firmly attached to the eyes. used the tape to lift the skin off but did not place any of it actually over the eye. i can sen how it could be potentially dangerous however, especially if the snake jerked its head. hopefully next time raising the ambient viv humidity will prevent this from happening.
