The first lot of leuc (bumblebee dart frog) eggs I found recently were infertile as expected. Yesterday though I found a second larger clutch. I can expect eggs at more or less weekly intervals now, but I doubt these are fertile either as it takes on average four or five attempts for D. leucomelas to get in the swing of things after which time they produce an almost 100% fertility rate.

Earlier in the week though, I made another discovery. The D. tinctorius "Oyapuk" had produced a clutch of eggs. They were attached to a scindapsus leaf. I left them a good 48 hours as the male returns at intervals to fertilise them.

Yesterday around half of them were budding so I removed them for incubation. Looks like they managed to get it part right first time. Now it`s up to me to try and rear them successfully so fingers crossed!

Thanks both. Cool

Watching the pair today, I don`t think it will be long before the pair produce another batch of eggs. Almost as soon as I spray a bit of aged water, the male resumes calling, and the female follows him everywhere. It appears as if he is towing her around . Very Happy

Then when they stop, she strokes his back with her foreleg. Sometimes, she climbs right on top of him, talk about forward women! Shocked Laughing

Thanks Mattie, I am afraid you are second in line so far! Laughing It`s slightly premature though as they haven`t even hatched yet. I am not sure either how many I may keep if they morph successfully but there will be more no doubt. Wink
