Any reason why it is locked and you are forced to join before you can sample the board?

On principle I'm afraid I don't join any forums that don't allow you to sample the boards before you join.

What is the BRC all about as well? a club? a forum? society? any more details Angi?

thanks Wink

The Mission Statement:

The British Reptile Club was formed to enable keepers to have a facility where husbandry ,health and care of their reptiles can be researched and discussed. Herpetology and Captive Husbandry work hand in hand and it is imperative for keepers to share information and have a forum where the latest technology and research can be seen.
Reptiles are a fabulous group of animals to keep in captivity, but as keepers we have a responsibility to house them in the best possible way using the best possible equipment. The more we understand them, the more our breeding is successful and the healthier they are. This has a knock on effect into the natural world. Our world is being stripped of its natural resources and natural habitats and it is part of our responsibility as reptile lovers both to the animals and to ourselves that we look after both the reptiles and the habitats they live in.

This Club and Forum take this responsibility seriously and one of its aims is to provide new information and the latest research for the keeper as well as providing conservation information and projects for people to read about and support.
Reptiles are a wondrous part of nature and we as keepers should delight and push forward the boundaries of our knowledge. This club is one step in the forwarding of those goals.

Primarily it'll be a reptile club with the added use of a forum. Notes taken from the website:

Enjoy the forum, Join the Club from the end of December where you can gain access to the downloadable newletters, discounts with certain reptile shops, a rescource area and lots lots more. We have kept membership fees down to a minimum of £5.00, which we feel is an affordable amount for most people and allows them to take advantage of everything the Club Offers.

Hope that enlightens people a bit more. Very Happy
