My Ackies are housed in a 4x2x2. There substrate is 50/50 soil and sand mix and about 10" deep throughout the whole enclosure. There basking spot is between 130-150f. Warm side 90ish and cool side in the mid 70's, the only heat i provide is the basking lights that heat the whole cage and at night when they go off the room is never below 70 so that's fine. Here are a few (old) pics of the enclosure.

hi Watts501
I wouldn't use the ceramic instead I'd go for a spot light on a dimming stat, also make sure the UV tube is positioned so that the lizards can lay within a few inches of it, if you can go for TWO uv lights, 1 mounted along the back wall 3" above the subsrate and one mounted on the ceiling to light the whole viv.
Also add basking stacks under the spot lamp.
best of luck _________________
