Hi guys,
Ive been offered a pastel for a few burms im selling now my question is:
Its not a great looking pastel, but its a male which will work out well for me as my bro has a few females. Would all of my clutch from this male look the same or do you get stunners and naff ones in every litter?
Appreciate the hlep guys _________________ Just a collector/lover for now |

I believe there should be 50% pastels and 50% normals and the colouration and blushing is random..
thats what i think, but wait on Scott or alternative to answer |

from what I've heard you can get nice pastels from drab adults although obviously the nicer the pastel you start with the more chance of a stunning youngster.
The female you breed him with will also have a big impact on the babies, so if you mate him with some real nice females that should increase your odds of nice young.
good luck either way... _________________

I've always thought the better foundations you use the better they are to build on so to speak so if you like the idea of a pastel but tihs one doesn't make you go omg i love it! then why not sell the burm babies and use the cash to put towards a STUNNING one, may cost a bit more but will be worth it at the end.

yep, your completely right Rachel, the better the starting stock the better the youngsters will be but 'ugly' snakes can still throw out the occaisonal stunning baby just as stunning snakes can still produce the odd drab youngster but by starting off with good stock you can cut down on the numbers of 'drab' young.
I personally go down the route of buying the best breeding stock, even if it means waiting and saving a little more to do it. _________________
