Hello Martin,

I used to keep them, they now reside with a friend of mine. The female has laid 3 clutches in the past, 1 with me and 2 with the new owner. The 1st clutch was laid when she was housed separate so no copulation with the male all infertile. I believe since then there as been plenty copulation but still no good eggs possibly down to Miss-timing or bad nesting for the female, but I cannot say for sure as they are not with me anymore.

They require a very large enclosure mainly because of their size plus for water requirements for them to bathe. Mine were completely docile but very untidy in their enclosure so much hard work cleaning all the time. Thank the Lord for desert species much easier to maintain!!!!!

If you are still interested I will be able to assist you in obtaining hatchlings or older animals.

They are very intensely yellow the most florescent yellow I have seen on a reptile in reality. If you use mecury vapor bulbs then even more so, from the pics in my opinion do not show up the yellow too good, it is far more intense in reality, taking pics is so frustrating because you cannot ever see the animals true colour only in person can they be really appreciated.

that's a beautiful cumingi. i had an adult male, but i also got rid of mine. i did so to work with argus monitors full time. i would like to work with them again in the future when i have much more room.
i kept mine in a 10x12ft outdoor cage. however this cage did not suit him well due to the lack of humidity needed for this tropical species. as a result his skin was a little dry. in the future i would use a greenhouse type of cage.

I kept mine in the house, but like you said Shay the humidity needed for tropical species was not very kind to my wooden cages. Incidentally I used to breed Argus monitors V. panoptes horni and V. panoptes panoptes great species to keep. I have seen pics of your male on other forums and it is very impressive.

I've all so kept them in the past. Really loved there color but they have big needs in enclosure size and humidity. If I had the money for it I would have kept my male but he deserved bigger and I had him in a cage that was 9 square meters. Also sines my female died (eggbound I think) I wanted something that didn't take so much time.
anyway if you have the money and the effort they are really stunning animals!
Regards
Mike
