Hiya
I have my Rankin just under a week now, she is around 6 weeks & not eating. I have tried greens, crickets & meal worms, but with luck. Any one got any ideas ?
Thanks |

I've had my Rankins for 5 months now and she hasn't eaten very much either. She went into brumation for just over 3 months and woke up this week (hurray ) she has only eaten 5 mealies in the 4 days that she's been awake and a little greens. I was surprised that they can go for so long without food. Before brumation she only ate a couple of crix and locusts and no greens in nearly 2 months.
I was really worried at that time but had my mind put at rest a little by the info on here. If she is looking well in every other way then she is probably just being fussy (it's the female way I think!!! ). Good luck you'll probably need it! |

I found that no matter how dis-interested in food my beardeds and rankins were in the past, the moment I put mini mealworm beetles in the viv they would go mad for them, even though they are tiny they seemed to love eating them. _________________

I went through the same sort of thing as you and still sort of am. My advice to you is that dont stress her out with anything and keep handling toa a minimal. Keep offering greens and take out all bugs and feeder food items cus them running round could stress her out. Leave her for a day or so and try crix again. What are her temps? does she have baths? Do you have any avipro plus cus this stuff will help pull her through any stress and boost good bacteria in her guts and have you seen her drink.
Cus urve only just really got her leave her alone definately for a day or 2 and let her be by herself for a litle. Ive been told that rankins are fussy and others say its down to the individual lizard.
And how longs are your rankins? Obi 1 and Daz and Julie??
Keep me informedxx _________________ Dante (rankins dragon)
