Found a few photos I took of a friend who got a quick 'nip' off a 3ft Caiman. It snapped at him while he was trying to catch it (silly sod thought he was Irvin!)
Anyway, this shows the damage that they can cause with just one quick bite from a small animal.
He was extremely lucky, the puncture wounds missed his tendens and nerves by mm's, after a 10 hour wait in casualty (they didn't believe it was a croc bite to start with ), he made a full recovery. |

I have some great photos of the panic on his face but he probably won't be too chuffed if I posted them up.....lol.
The hospital let me take photos while they stitched him up too, the doctor really couldn't cope under pressure (i was filming too!) and he made a right hash of the stitching! |

Coulda been a lot worse then that!! You just don't realise how sharp their teeth really are until you see them in the flesh, because in books/on documentaries they look a bit blunt. Next time wear some chainmail gloves |

I doubt you could ever really trust a caiman but they certainly can settle right down and even come over and take food off of tongs etc. _________________
