I don't claim to be an expert, but I would strongly suggest changing the site from the default SubSilver theme - I know this is not the case with you guys, but to a new user it can give the impression that you can't be arsed. There are a hell of a lot of sites out there that look the same.
This is an excellent site and IMO should be made to look a bit more unique and visually stand out more.

Please don't take offense at this post - as I said, this is an excellent, well run site, but on first impressions looks like every other unaltered phpBB out there.

Hi Si,

thanks for the comments, as Stu said we are looking at a new colour / style 'theme' etc but haven't yet decided.

Maybe we will narrow the choice down to 2 or 3, then let forum members choose which they prefer?

I have a suggestion for a new forum rule, with a view to getting it enforced internet wide.

NO MORE TREATING FORUMS LIKE A TEXT MESSAGE.
If it isnt worth typing something out properly don't bother at all

everywhere i look there are more and more people doing it and i am slowly losing the ability to read english, but now speak fluent text Crying or Very sad
