I am clueless as to the sexes of my 'pair' of Argus. It seems as if i might have 3 males in total... and no female. lol

Ok here's what went down. I tossed in my extra 'male' Argus monitor, and both of my other animals shown a keen sense of interest in him, my 'male' try-ed to wrestled with him, but instead he grabbed the female, in which she defended her self, but standing up, and wrestling my male. It was a very interesting, and nervous to witness. I know that males, and males, will wrestle, along with females, and females, and males, with females. My 'female' is smaller and less bulky, than my 'male' but her nostrils are raised... but not enlarged as my 'males' I am so confused haha. I love monitors, always keep you guessing!

Well here are a few pictures let me know what you think. 1st 3 are the 'female'.

Now for the wrestling match, which lasted a good 3 min.

what age are your Argus? i too have an Argus which i'm not sure of the sex, although mine is only just coming up to a year old. i believe it's possibly female, judging by head size & shape & general body size(bulk) to length ratio.

Hi,I have an adult breeding pair of argus .They are kept together and get along great.I have never witnessed any wresling matches ever,it must be very rough because thes are fast,strong lizards.The female is significantly smaller(shorter) and alot less massive(bulky) than the male .The base of the tail of the male is way thicker than the females.My female is apx. 3 1/2 feet while my male is close or past the 5 foot mark.
