crushed walnut shells?

Just read an article on caring for bearded dragons.It said that crushed walnut shell is poisonous and used only for oil spillage!!?Is this true?
I use it and my very reliable herp shop reccomended it!!!

bad stuff mate , when u put walnut shells on an oil spillage they expand to soak up the oil , so imagine if ur bd eats some and also they can be sharp and can tear a bds inststine to bits i saw this posted on a site once , some1s bd died all of a sudden they had an post mortom done and it was a big mpaction of wall nut shell , so in my opinion i wouldnt advise using them i prefer a nice solid substrate such as rough textured tiles , kitchen roll , repti carpet or , non adeshive shelf liner Very Happy

ok thanks, (note to self,change cages in the morning.)
cant beleive my pet shop sold me that.and to think i spent £20 of my bday money on that!!!
