Hi, does any one know the name of the reflective grill that is commonly seen on vivs and such?
Its about an inch thick and sort of honeycombe effect and looks highly reflective.
I presume its that thick to stop light leakage from glaring into your eyes?
cheers _________________ http://s124.photobucket.com/albums/p17/Bird-fly/

Light reflectors:
http://www.vivaria.nl/vivaria/?get=product&menu=lightD&template=product_light.xsl
basically focus's the light straight down which is cool
If your looking for something to reflect and not really guide light painting your lighting hood with regular white paint works very well.
I use a reflective paper/fabric it's silver one side and white the other the white actually creates a brighter light. I got given to me by a friend who works at the BBC and that works awesome but I'm not sure where you would get normally. _________________ Paul

Hi, I was gunna paint the inside of the lid brilliant white for reflection, but i wanted this grill...... that i've seen, its quite deep or thick, the only way i can describe it is its like a bee's honey comb, silver/reflective but the main quality is its thickness 3/4 to 1 inch, i suppose if you have a tall viv and the lights are at the top, this grill due to its thickness only allows the light to be reflected through it downwards, rather than all over the place and into your eyes??
Sorry i cant make myself clear enough.
I'll have to have a look round again
edit, yes it guides the light downwards as opposed to allowing it to "beam" all over the place _________________ http://s124.photobucket.com/albums/p17/Bird-fly/

Is that not it in the link I posted?
It does the same job mate I'm sure there's a lighting company in the UK that would do it cheaper than the firm in the link tho try your local lighting shop _________________ Paul
