The poor thing, can't imagine the stress and discomfort she has been through
Hope she pulls through OK and gets to enjoy a health future with you - someone to love her as she deserves after a rotten start. Best of luck and do keep us all posted.
BTW sounds like you have found a good vet there - maybe you could post details if you think the vet is worth a recommendation. |

Yes best of luck poor cham, just shows the damage that can be done by incorrect husbandry and the previous keeper not bothering to read up on the species.
In my view there is no excuse not to get the husbandry right there is lots of available information in books on websites etc for the captive care of the Yemen.
Soundslike the vet did a good job, and as John said a mention of the vets practice details would be great.
Best of luck to the cham! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Thank you all so much for your support. I'm picking her up tonight so I am looking forward to getting her home and giving her the care and attention that she deserves and that she should of had from the start! I think it was just laziness and lack of care on her previous owners part, yes and you are right there is soooo much info out there on Veileds that they just didn't even bother to find out.
My vet has been fantastic and would defiantly recommend them to anyone who has reptiles or other common pets for that matter. They are a newly opened surgery and they are called Sand-hole Veterinary Centre in Snodland in Kent They have specialist exotics vets and veterinary nurses who have a great deal of knowledge and are very helpful. Without them I would have lost my Cham so I am very grateful. If anyone has a problem with their animal and can get down to Kent then I would really recommend them. I have all their details so if anyone wants them just let me know.
I will keep you posted on my Cham (Madge because shes such a Maddona!) Thanks again |

Superb and good for you that your a caring owner well done!
Do you know if the vets name is mark by any chance? There was a good reptile vet in Snodland called Mark. I will use this one as I live only 30 minutes away from Snodland! Good result all round! Hard to find a good herp vet!
Best of luck! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Hi have brought Madge the Cham home yesterday. She is feeling a bit sorry for herself with all her stitches but is eating ok so that's a good sign.
Yes Rickeezee the vet I took her to is called Mark, must be the same one. He is really good |
